CAS Fourth Quarter Allegro on 28th Oct [Update#3]

A total of 74 players from two categories combined have pre-registered their names for the upcoming CAS event on 28th October 2012 @ Arthur Tan Chess Centre, 4th Floor, Wiayah Complex, KL.
CAS really appreciate players who have performed pre-registration as of 21st Oct 2012.

To encourage more chess players taking part in this event that play under "25 minutes plus 10 seconds increment from Move 1" time control, CAS has decided to extend the pre-registration deadline (without late fee charges) until 25th October (Thursday).

CTEP (New Intake - 20th October 2012)

Dear Parents,

Would you like to see your children improve the ability to calculate in maths, or able to focus for a longer period in doing things, or perhaps represent our country in Chess?

I would like to inform that a new intake for children who are currently at Elementary level in Chess (National Rating between 1000 to 1200) will commence from Now until 18th October 2012.

The first class will begin on 20th October 2012 (Saturday) from 5pm to 7pm. Each semester consists of 10 lessons. Venue: SS 14, Subang Jaya. For those who are interested in enrolling your children for the group-based CTEP, please contact Mr. Lim @ 012 - 298 4922 for more information.

1st Summit Juniors Open on 11 Nov @ Summit USJ

I'm glad to inform that a chess tournament will be held at The Summit USJ, Subang Jaya on 11 Nov 2012. This one day tournament shall be divided into 4 categories namely Under-10, Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16.

These 4 categories shall have an accumulated cash prize of RM 2,000 to be distributed among 40 prizewinners. The Champion in each Category shall be receiving RM 150 Cash + Medal + Certificate of Achievements. The entry fee for each person is RM 12 only (Among the lowest entry fee for a Nationally-rated event).

We accept limited entries only due to space constrain, so you need to pre-register yourself as quickly as possible by sending an email to tsepin@gmail.com stating down your name, H/P Number  and category that you wish to contest. All entries will be accepted based on "first comes first serve basis with payment received" followed by "first comes first serve basis on pre-registration" .

The Closing Date for Registration with Payment on 4th Nov 2012 (Side note: Payment can be made on 4th Nov @ SJK(C) Kepong 2 where the school is organising the 18th Kepong Juniors Championship. CAS will be organising her next 1-day event on 28th October 2012 @ Arthur Tan Chess Centre, 4th Floor, Wilayah Complex, KL. This event is supposed to be organised on 7th October but we had decided to shift the date towards end of the month due to school examination.

CAS has decided to improve on the value of main prizes to attract more chess players to join the Category 1. Click here to download the event inforsheet.
